GYPSY (2019)
Our consciousness of space over time often leads us to memories of our younger selves. Remembering places that spark emotion. Happy or sad, every space has its own story for each individual.
Specific items may also ground us, trophies, clothes and photographs make me think of areas that I grew up in, making that initial connection to space over time. I took these objects away from the traditional setting and placed them in a space that I associate them with. The spaces became areas of ease and familiarity throughout my life. Therefore revisiting the spaces with the objects, makes a piece that is not only sentimental, but also something that identifies our sense of grounding in this world.
